The Archives and Special Collections section of the UAA
Consortium Library, along with multiple partners statewide, has developed a
website intended to identify and describe substantive collections relating to
the Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964.
The site is available at: http://64akquake.org/
Project goals:
1. To expand access to primary source materials about the Great
Alaska Earthquake of 1964.
2. To provide a collaborative website that can act as a starting
point for individuals interested in researching the earthquake.
Funding was provided by the Institute of Museum and Library
Services via the Alaska State Library through an Interlibrary Cooperation Grant
awarded in June 2012. Grant application support was provided by the Valdez
Museum, Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, Alaska Resources Library and
Information Service (ARLIS), Seward Community Library and Alaska Moving Image
Preservation Association (AMIPA).
For further information, please contact the Archives
and Special Collections at the Consortium Library, University of
Alaska Anchorage.
